Job Description

Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide a safe and healthy workplace using a team work approach.

  • Interface with management, peers, subcontractors, customers and regulators to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, City, Local, and Company EHS polices and regulations.

  • Coordinate, conduct, and document EHS training (in all EHS areas).

  • Conduct and document Safety Audits, insure abatement of non-compliances are completed in a timely manner.

  • Enforce company policies and procedures.

  • Provide assistance in incident investigation and/or emergency response.

  • Insure Job Safety Analyses (JSA's), Task Safety Analyses (TSA'S), Work Permits, Emergency Action Plans, etc... have been issued and enforced.
    Knowledge & Technology utilized for this position
    The Safety Coordinator shall be competent in the following EHS principles:

  • OSHA CFR 1910 & 1926 Regulatory Standards.

  • Basic Environmental Protection Agency Standards.

  • Applicable Federal, State, City, and Local Regulations.

  • NFPA Codes i.e... Life Safety, Fire, etc...

  • Material flow and manufacturing operations.

  • Recordkeeping and Reporting

    Technology utilized for this position

  • Microsoft computer software – (Word, Outlook, Excel etc…)

  • Computer Ease software.

  • Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

The Safety Coordinator will have the ability to conduct the following:

  • Work with supervisors and employees to monitor, train, implement, and enforce existing company EHS policies to protect employees and employer property.

  • On-site and shop audits of work spaces to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Lead company safety meetings.

  • Be comfortable working both in a team environment as well as working independently;

  • Be a change agent and must possess a "sense of urgency" in work habits.

  • Be responsible for coordinating all EHS activities through employee collaboration.

  • Work closely with the Company's EHS Unit to proactively drive programs and support a culture to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all of our employees.
    Preferred Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree optional.

  • 2-3 years of Industrial Safety Field experience.
