SUMMARY:Webinar - DOL’s Davis-Bacon Final Rule: What Construction Contractors Need To Know
DESCRIPTION:WEBINAR DESCRIPTION\n\nABC Members Only\n\nOn Aug. 8\, 2023\, the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division announced a final rule\, Updating the Davis-Bacon Act and Related Acts Regulations. Unfortunately\, the new regulation fails to provide any meaningful reforms to prevailing wage regulations. Instead\, it increases the regulatory burden placed on the construction industry by undoing prior reforms and expanding Davis-Bacon requirements to cover new industries and activities. In all\, the rule implements over 50 significant changes to current regulations.\n\nThe final rule is scheduled for publication in the Federal Register on Aug. 23\, and will take effect 60 days later. This session will discuss key aspects of the newly released final rule and what contractors should know to ensure compliance and share ABC's next steps in fighting this costly and unfair new rule.\n\nSPEAKER INFO\n\nMaury Baskin serves as ABC's general counsel and is a shareholder in the Washington\, D.C.\, office of Littler Mendelson P.C.\, where he co-chairs Littler's Workplace Policy Institute. He is one of the chief legal advocates for the rights of employers on labor issues throughout the country. Baskin has represented ABC and its member firms at every level of court\, up to and including the U.S. Supreme Court.\n\nBen Brubeck is ABC's vice president of regulatory\, labor and state affairs. In this role\, he works with his team work to shape policy on local\, state and federal issues important to the construction industry\, and represents ABC before lawmakers\, the media\, construction industry executives and stakeholders. His expertise across a portfolio of issues includes labor and employment\, workforce development\, infrastructure\, federal contractor regulations\, small businesses and public works procurement.\n\n\n\nRegister Here
