DESCRIPTION:On Dec. 12\, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) issued the final "ambush" elections rule\, which overhauls its procedures for union representation elections.  The final rule is scheduled to take effect on April 14\, 2015 and will have a significant impact on ABC members.\n\n \n\nUnder the final rule\, the amount of time between a union filing a representation petition and an election taking place likely will be dramatically reduced from the current average of 38 days.\n\n \n\nThe shortened time period for union elections will place a premium on rapid response by employers to union organizing activity.\n\n \n\nJoin ABC General Counsel Maury Baskin\, as he discusses the impact the final "ambush" elections rule will have on employers and the immediate steps employers need to take.
