Business continuity is essential for any organization and encompasses a variety of tasks and activities that assure critical operations are resilient in the face of a serious incident or disaster that significantly interrupts business functioning. Potential incident events to be prepared for include natural, human or technological. Most organizations do not have sufficient continuity plans in place leaving them extremely vulnerable and likely to fail in the event of a crisis.
This session will cover the fundamentals of continuity planning following a model developed by the National Fire Protection Association along with pother best practices. Attendees will be able to identify the risks to their organizations, understand the framework of a continuity plan and be able to take these concepts back to be used in the planning process.
