On design-build projects, the owner enters into a contract with a design-builder who is obligated to design and construct the project. The design-builder then enters into contracts with architects and contractors, as needed. Design-build documents can be used on small to large projects.
This course will explore the unique features of the AIA's updated design-build agreements and the key differences from the 2004 documents. Attendees will learn about the contractual relationships and liabilities set forth in these agreements and how to properly allocate risks and responsibilities in order to achieve a successful project.
